Frequently asked questions
What is a pledge?
A pledge is an estimate of how much money you plan to give during the year. It is a promise to give - not a binding contract. Situations and life circumstances can change - and pledges may be adjusted at any time during the year.
Your pledge makes it possible for us to create a realistic budget for our staffings, ministries, programs and outreach for the coming year. Pledging is the primary basis for what we can accomplish as a chuch. Pledging is not just the basis of our budget, it is also the spiritual discipline that provides a tangible way for you to grow in your faith by sharing the blessings God has given you.
How much should I pledge?
Just as everyone has a different financial situation, the amount of your pledge is an individual decision and will be unique. Your pledge should reflect your own life circumstances and sense of commitment to your faith and the church. We hope to receive pledges from aproximately 210 families to meet our budget goal of $352,500. While our average pledge is about $1,675 (annually).
How do I pledge?
You may pledge by completing a pledge card that can be picked up from the church office. You can also pledge by using the online giving button found above. On the pledge form, indicate the amount of your pledge on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual basis - whatever frequency works best for you.
If you have any questions about pledging please don't hesitate to contact our church office.
How do I submit matching contributions from my company?
Many companies and organizations will match an employee's donation to a charitable organization. Despite most organizations excluding religious organizations from their matching program, the UCCT has qualified at multiple large organizations because of our community outreach efforts. This is a valuable source of income that we don't want to miss, so be sure to check to see if your employer does match charitable donations. If you would like a copy of the document that one of our members used to persuade their organization to match gifts to our church, please contact Tonya Lyon, Director of Finance
