Another year over……
Our 4th annual
Relay for Life event has come to a close and our
church’s team, “U C us Walk for the Cure”, had
another successful year!
We had over 30 members on our team and
fundraised over $12,500 to date.
We offer many thanks and
express our appreciation to all those who
supported our efforts with monetary donations,
baked goods, prayers, music and attendance at
the Relay!
We couldn’t have done it without you!
It is awesome to be part of a strong and
caring church family!
The goal
of the Relay is, of course, to raise funds for
research and much needed services for those with
cancer. On a personal level it is an opportunity
for each of us to be in community with one
another, building friendships, supporting those
who are touched by cancer, remembering those
we’ve lost, and knowing that together we are
making a difference.
Stone
Bracelets
The “U C us Walk for the Cure” team sells
stone-bead bracelets as a fundraising
measure.
Each stone of the bracelet represents
a different cancer and the bracelets are
packaged with a card that identifies each
color stone corresponding to each cancer.
They are made by Thistle Glass in
Ellington. The team has several left over
from the Relay that are available for sale
at $10 each.
Purchases will continue to go towards
the team’s fundraising goal through August.
