Our church school is located in
a separate building in back of the church. Church school is available at both the
8:30 and 10:00 a.m. church services. The nursery is located in the church near the door in the
sanctuary near the pulpit.

8:30
Church School Program
Children who attend
Church School at 8:30
start in church to begin worship with their families.Following the children’s message, the children proceed to their
classrooms.The children are
divided into three combined-age groups:Pre-school
(ages 2-4) and Kindergarten; Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-7.
The curriculum used at the 8:30
service is called “Live B.i.G”.This
is a Bible-based curriculum and helps children see, hear and live their Belief
in God.Short
video segments bring faith-filled, high energy excitement to our children
with characters who model B.i.G. behavior. This DVD
based resource is designed to excite and enrich our children’s spiritual
lives by bringing every day, real world experience to Sunday School. The program seamlessly integrates the three ways children learn:hearing, seeing and then living what they learn. Each month has a theme, a “B.i.G. Idea” and a Bible Memory verse.Lessons include a Bible story, DVD
segment, activities to immerse and connect the children in the Bible story,
and ends with closing worship and prayer.
Children who attend
the 10:00
Church School begin worship with their families on a rotating basis from
kindergarten through grade 7. This
schedule is published in the monthly church newsletter the
Tidings.Otherwise,
children report directly to their Sunday School class each week.
Children are placed in
classes based on their grade in school, beginning with classes for pre-school
ages of 2, 3 and 4, then kindergarten through grade 7.The curriculum used at the 10:00
service is called “Gather ‘Round:Hearing
& Sharing God’s Good News.”This
is a Bible-based curriculum, and is based on a four-year Bible outline. There is a Bible story each week, followed by various activities for
the children to reflect on and connect to the story.Children then are able to “respond” to the story through small
group or individual response options.The
“ending and sending” segment of the class includes a song and/or prayer
and a scriptural blessing.
Care is provided
during the 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services for infants to two years of age.
We have a
summer nursery for infants to entering kindergarten age.
The summer program is for
children having completed kindergarten to those having completed 6th
grade.Children who have not yet
entered kindergarten are welcome to spend the worship hour in the cradle room
(nursery).
The children who attend
Church School this summer will start in church to begin worship with their
families.Following the
children’s message, the children proceed to their classroom, which is on
the first floor of the main church building, just down and across from the
main church office.At the
conclusion of the service, parents may collect their children from that
classroom.If the classroom door
is closed when you arrive, it is an indicator that the teacher is trying to
finish up the lesson with the class.
